I am doing this trip to raise money for the RNLI and so it is no surprise that I need you to give to make the event a success.
What is "success"? Well, I have set a target to raise for the charity in excess of £20,000.
Individual Sponsorship
There are several ways you can help:
- Give money!
Sounds simple but there are two ways:
- 1. Give money to us
All cash given to us, unless specifically for sponsorship, will be considered a donation to the RNLI "Train one, save many" campaign. All money donated via a collection bucket falls into that category as does any money given directly to the team (except by explicitagreement with you).
If you wish, your name, and amount donated will be added to the Sponsors list on the web site and in the final report. However, if not specifically requested your name will not be added.
- 2. Via www.justgiving.com/roundbritain_rnli
This site allows you to give money directly to the charity and we do not see it at all. The benefit in giving this way is that you are confident that all your money gets to the charity and you can use Giftaid if you are a UK taxpayer to increase the value of your donation.
We need BOTH types of donation so please give in whatever way you feel most comfortable with.
- Collect Money on Our Behalf
Why not download the General Sponsorship Form and collect on my behalf. Just collect the pledges after the event has finished and send me a single cheque. Easy.
- Give Equipment or Services
The event will require much more than I have personally to do it safely and in a timely fashion and we will need items and services that we would not normally need. If you wish to give towards the effort in ways other than cash it would be hugely appreciated as anything that we don't have to buy is extra money raised for the RNLI.
All sponsors and donators will automatically appear on our Partners page on the web site and in the final report unless requested otherwise.
Major sponsors will get special mentions in publicity (radio, TV and press). See "Event Sponsors" below.
- Help enroute
Whilst going around Britain I will need assistance at stopoff points. I may need fuel, I will have street collections to do and other fundraising as appropriate. If you can assist in anything at my stopoff points then it would be HUGELY appreciated.
Every little helps and if all you can manage to do is pop a 20p in the collection bucket when you see me enroute then I will certainly appreciate it as will the RNLI and the seafarers that have their lifes saved.
THANK YOU!
Event Sponsors
We would like to ensure that all donations and sponsorships given by the public go directly to the RNLI so that people can be absolutely 100% sure that their donation, small or large, will end up contibuting to the efforts of the RNLI and not funding this event.
To that end we are seeking companies or individuals to sponsor the event itself ensuring that our costs are met and thereby ensuring the maximum benefit to the RNLI.
As an Event Sponsor you would get certain benefits:
- Leg Sponsors will sponsor a leg or legs. Their contribution will go towards the costs of that leg only and as such they would get mentions whenever possible in publicity and media coverage for that leg. Publicity for a particular leg would be at the start of the leg. e.g. publicity for the Plymouth to Penzance leg would be at Plymouth and on the Plymouth to Penzance page of the web site itinerary.
- Leg Sponsors will also have the option to meet Paul & appear in any media coverage. Also, Paul would be pleased to take up to 4 representatives of the sponsor for a trip in their local waters of up to 1 hour. Sponsorship should not be conditional on this trip because it would only be available when schedule, tide and weather permits and is not guaranteed. However, every effort would be made.
Leg Sponsorship
Available for a single payment to the event fund (not directly to the RNLI)
