Nice gap coming up?

I have been watching the gap in the weather that is forecast for Thursday/Friday with disbelief but I am hopeful now, just 2 days ahead, that it will actually happen and so I have decided to return to the boat from my wonderful break and continue onwards with the section that I have been most looking forward to since the start… the Scottish Islands up to Fort William and the Caledonian Canal!

So, I am packing up and catching the flight tomorrow lunchtime from Exeter to Belfast City and if all goes to plan I will be back on the boat mid-afternoon. It looks like high water is about 1pm so I will probably be leaving about midday on Friday if the weather works out.

This break has been a real opportunity to recharge and to reassess where I am with the trip and I am returning with renewed vigor and enthusiasm. I am hoping that I will do the remaining legs without the need for further breaks… let’s hope so.

I will post again when on the boat tomorrow and I have had a chance to look in detail at the weather and tides.

You didn’t carry the batteries all the way back home to re-charge surely!Good to see that things are looking better. Hope everything goes well for Friday. Today Inverness will be basking in the sun at high temps. You will see more spectacular scenery during the next part of your trip……………….and the locals are very friendly too
