The stitching that secures the zip on the top section of the awning where the side zips on is coming apart slightly. This is really the first problem with the boat in any respect so far and it is such a small one that I did think about not mentioning it but in the spirit of keeping you all informed I have.
It isn’t really a big deal. I can survive very happily as it is and providing it doesn’t get significantly worse I will wait until my return to get it fixed. If it gets worse though I will mention it and might need to find a sailmaker or sprayhood maker to do a running repair.

I want to say a very special thank you to Brian and Sheila of Bon-Accord Training for their fantastic support, hospitality and assistance while I was here. Brian and Sheila were both here to welccome me when I arrived and they have done everything I could possibly want to help and to make my stay here not only easier and more enjoyable but they facilitated the collecting I did today at Asda.
I you ever want any industrial or commercial driver training done and you can possibly get to Aberdeen then I really do recommend that you give them serious consideration. They also do training at your premises if that is more convenient. They are clearly very professional and capable in what they do and a nicer bunch you could not possibly meet.
Also a big thanks to the staff at Asda Peterhead again for making me welcome and allowing me to collect there today.

The forecast for tomorrow is not good… F5-6 westerly. But as I am on the east coast, the wind is westerly and there are no dangers between here and Arbroath I am going to go out and see what it is like before I decide. If after a while at sea I believe that it isn’t sensible to continue then I will return to Peterhead otherwise I will continue on to Arbroath where I intend to stay one night before continuing on to Eyemouth.
I will leave as early as I can, after paying my berthing fees when the harbour office opens, so that I can do 6 kts for much of the way to say on fuel if it is rough. I expect I will be underway by 9.30am.
The high pressure that was developing from the south looks set to retreat again and yet more low pressure systems plague the north.

Given the grotty weather I have had on the trip so far I have decided that now is the time to change plan slightly to try to ensure I get back home in a sensible time period.
As of today I have decided to reduce the number of nights I intend to stay in each port from 3 down to just one. If the weather requires me to stay longer then so be it but if the weather allows me to continue on the next day then I will move on.
I will continue with this plan until I get further round and if the weather miraculously picks up and I find that I have more guaranteed travel days ahead then I may reassess where I stand. But for now assume that I am moving on next day if the weather is suitable.
