High pressure not winning

Already the forecast for next week is not looking so promising. Now the forecasts are showing F4-5 but there is still a possible window on Friday, particularly early in the day. I will keep a very close eye on this especially on sea state and report back to you again tomorrow evening.

I thought it was too good to be true!

Three fishermen’s lives saved by MOB Guardian

The lives of three fishermen have been saved thanks to the RNLI’s new and unique MOB Guardian man overboard and vessel locater alert system. This is the first time that the system has demonstrated its full effectiveness in helping to save lives in a real emergency situation.

I have MOB Guardian system on Stargate and I am making it available to anyone who wants to look at the installation and discuss how the system is operated. Please just see me in port, contact me in port of contact the RNLI to arrange a viewing. I will be delighted to show you the system.

High Pressure perhaps?

Looking at the 3 day synoptic chart ( http://www.meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm ) it looks like the high pressure that has stuck firmly to the south of the UK for weeks is finally threatening to more further north where it can exert its influence on us. This is great news if it happens because it will increase the chances of good weather for me to catch up on the schedule a little.

There is not likely to be any chance of moving before Friday but after that the chances look increasing good. I would like to get away as close to Friday as possible for the next 2 legs as Friday in neap tides and the thidal streams through the North Channel and through the islands will be significantly reduced. We will see.
