The decorarator has finished apart from one or two bits - he’s coming over on Thursday to do all the things I find! So I am left with a houseful of rooms covered in dust and muck, with belongings all over the place and some rather fetching underlay for carpet. I now have to clean every room of the house, so that’ll be fun. I’ve made a start, which is why I am now all sweaty ( oh, no, sorry, covered in perspiration, no, glowing) and dusty and hot and my back aches. So that’s it for today.

All the windows that I felt might allow me to move on have closed and the current forecasts do not suggest that I will be away before next week. It is all F4s and F5s and I am determined not to leave here until it looks like I will have reasonable seas.
These constant weather delays are starting to get to me. Things that haven’t been niggling me are starting to get at me a bit and I am starting to be less than enthusiastic at living on such a small boat with so limited facilities. I did say in my post regarding living on the boat that overall it works well and it certainly does but it is clear to me that what works well when everything else is going well can start to wrangle when the weather or other things don’t go my way. I am not pretending that this boat is suited to long-term living… it certainly is only intended for day or a couple of days at most but I have taken up the challenge to see if I can get around britain in it… the biggest challenge by far are personal ones and all to do with the living and coping with the limited space. The actual boating side seems easy by comparison!
So, that is really why I want better weather… yes, I want the good weather for safe travel but even more I want things to start going well as far as the weather is concerned so that I can cope more easily with the other challenges.
