Paul is now nearing the Irish coast having had a reasonable crossing in F3 and a moderate sea. So good progress and probably a couple of hours to run to Bangor depending on sea conditions. Paul is on his way soonJune 20th, 2008, 11:29:09 am
He will be setting off in the next hour sometime. Don’t worry when you see him head South from Douglas. After taking local advice he feels he will go with the sea better by going South and then more northerly, than more westerly as he planned. Going todayJune 20th, 2008, 8:57:04 am
The weather is a difficult one today. The wind is not particularly strong today (F3-4) but if I want a favourable tide then it will be wind over tide and that is not ideal. On the otherhand, tomorrow will be an easterly so there is no wind over tide but it is stronger with the forecast for some very strong winds the following day. The wind on the ground here is a F2-3 and so I am going to go this afternoon on the tide and about 12noon. Yet again, I might have a difficult and uncomfortable crossing but this time I am with the tide so I am expecting it not to be too bad and once I am across the Irish Sea the winds are reducing anyway. So, departure lunchtime… next stop Bangor… Sally’s Blog - Solvent AbuseJune 20th, 2008, 8:41:23 am
We’re on to Gloss paint now so I am inhaling fumes - not nice but not for long. Paul did some sightseeing yesterday and is looking closely at forecast conditions to see if there is a window this afternoon to go off to Bangor. More news later. |
