Things looking good for next couple of days

As things quieten down and a weak ridge builds from the south it is likely that I will get away either Thursday or Friday. I will decide tomorrow morning and if it looks favourable I will go. If not then Friday looks like being the better of the two so Friday will then be possible.

I will post tomorrow morning after reviewing the forecasts at about 6am. If I do go Thursday departure will be at about 7am.

A big THANK YOU to Neyland Yacht Haven

Thank you to Neyland Yacht Haven for being understanding and continuing to allow me berthing while this weather goes through.

Friday is looking possible

At the moment Friday is looking a possible departure. The winds here are dying over the next 24hrs by the look of it and I am hopeful right now that this will happen.

Weather with gusto

Here in Neyland Yacht Haven it has clouded over with some pretty strong gusts, I would say F5-6 at the moment.

Neyland - A Connection with Saltash

I live in Saltash and I didn’t know this but Neyland and Saltash have a thing in common… or should I say person - I. K. Brunel.

Saltash is on the Cornish side of the border from Devon to Cornwall and there is a railway bridge over the River Tamar designed and built by the great engineer. Here in Neyland there is a small park dedicated to Brunel detailing with exhibits the involvement of Brunel with Neyland.

For example, the first railway to be built in Wales was built here and the Great Eastern< a steam ship by Brunel, was brought here twice for repairs. There are many other interesting facts that involve Brunel here too. Take a look at the photos for a glimpse.

The park is called Brunel Quay and is just a couple of minutes walk from Neyland Yacht Haven.

To the pictures…

I have WiFi!!!

I have managed to scrounge WiFi access for the rest of my stay here in Milford Haven so I have now uploaded the pics for the last two legs.

Enjoy.

Stuck like glue

With the brisk winds continueing I am still stuck here in Milford Haven. I was hopeing to get away tomorrow and if things calm down unexpectedly then that might still be possible, or even on Friday, but for now I am in the marina with a F4-5 here in Mildord Haven and a forecast F5-7 and seas of moderate to rough on route.

I will keep you all posted on my thoughts as they happen.
