Had a look and it was not good

I left the marina this morning to find the river very rough… at least for a river. If it was rough there then it strongly indicated a no go. I am now back on the berth in the Neyland Yacht Haven and it looks like I will be here for a day or two at least - as I suspected last night.

Just a point for those that are wondering why I even left at all… I do not consider any one forecast when decided what to do. I look at many and then make up my mind whether it is a go or no go. Clearly this morning had the potential to not be true to any forecast. I said last night that it was a very unpredictable scene and this was bourne out by the significant change in the inshore waters forecast between last night and this morning. This is compounded by the Neyland Yacht Haven being very sheltered. There is almost no wind here and the water is dead calm… very misleading.

So back to fundraising then for a while.

Looks OK for Pwllheli today

Well the forecast is looking much better today… the wind is up but the forecast for the sea state is mostly slight, occasionally moderate. With the quiet spell we have had over the past few days I am comfortable with that..

So onwards to Pwllheli.
