Again the phone connection in the highlands is not good and sending pics to the internet is just not possible… sorry I am hoping to get better connections later as I pass through the canal or possible be able to use wifi or an internet cafe in Fort Augustus. As the last resort I will be able to upload at Inverness so it may have to wait until then.

I set up this blog in a way that allos you to take part in the event by commenting and discussing but it seems that most people don’t want to contribute. That is fine and I am very much enjoying reporting the trip to you all and I know from the web site statistics you are reading my posts. However, if you are not commenting because you didn’t know that you could do so then I would just like to bring it to your attention that you can.
At the end of each post there is a link that shows how many comments have been made or it will say you can be the first. If you have registered on the site you can click on that link and post your own comment. Providing it is descent and clean and is relevent to the trip then Ivery much welcome all views or comments even if you disagree with what I have done… perhaps especially if you disagree with what I have done! There is more than one way to do most things in boating and we can all learn from frank, honest and friendly discussion.
So, if you haven’t yet registered on the site please do and make your thoughts known by posting your comments.

I have managed to scrounge WiFi access for the rest of my stay here in Milford Haven so I have now uploaded the pics for the last two legs.
Enjoy.

Not my technology this time!
Unfortunately there is no 3G on the O2 network in Neyland Yacht Haven so I can not send pics. Sorry. I will get them up just as soon as possible so please don’t give up on them… they ARE on their way I promise.
If anyone in or near Milford Haven is prepared to come and get me and let me access your WiFi I would be very grateful

The weather is looking good for departure to Padstow tomorrow. In fact, it is looking so good for the next few days that I am going to catch up on the schedule a little and only stay one night with a departure, weather permitting, for Milford Haven on Saturday. It does mean missing out a little on the delights of Padstow and missing a fundraising opportunity but I must make hay while the sun is shining… so to speak
Newlyn has been an absolute delight and already I know I shall come back… either by land or sea… but I will return to this delightful, and quite unique in my opinion, place.
I will report on weather before departure tomorrow. I expect to depart at 7am to get into Padstow inner harbour before they lock the lock
I have added a Photo Gallery link on the top menu. I shall put all the photos in there… please take a look.

I have added a new category in the Blogs section called Weather. I will try to give my interpretation of the weather situation as I make those all important go/no go decisions.
I have a bit of experience at looking at and interpreting weather charts and data but I am no expert! Weather forecasting is often more an art than a science so if you disagree with my interpretation then I am not surprised. If you do disagree then post a comment to the blog post and let us all know why.

Round Britain sailor, Paul Churchley, who is fundraising for the RNLI charity, has fitted his vessel with an RNLI MOB Guardian unit. (A man overboard and vessel locator system, that helps search and rescue agencies find casualties in emergencies). Paul is welcoming fishermen and sailors onboard his vessel to see it working in situ.
MOB Guardian is a confidential location system (position details are made known to search & rescue agencies only in emergencies) but for this event MOB Guardian is transmitting to Google Earth so Paul’s vessel location can be tracked by the public.

I have added a new page to show the weather forecast. Click on "Weather Forecast" on the right menu.
I will display WindGuru and AccuWeather data but may add to this later. I must point out that these are not the only weather sources I am using but they are the easier ones to put onto the web site!

Great news for everyone wanting to follow me as I go Round Britain…

MarineTrack, leading provider of Telematic Systems, is providing me with a tracking device that will allow you to tranck my progress as I travel round. I don’t have all the technical details yet but it will mean that you will be able to view my progress in real time when I am at sea!
Established in 1998 by a group of telematic engineers specialising in remote medical monitoring, MarineTrack responded to the remote monitoring needs of the Super Yacht Industry.
